Google Ads (AdWords) Management in Rhode Island
Search, Performance Max and Local Services Ads run by people who watch the spend.
Google Ads Management
You have probably tried Google Ads once. You set a budget, watched the money go, and could not point to one job that came from it. Or an agency runs it now, and a report you cannot read arrives each month from a person you have never spoken to. So paid search feels like a slot machine, and you are done feeding it.
It stops being a slot machine when someone is actually managing it. Black Door Creative provides Google Ads, formerly AdWords, management in Rhode Island for businesses that want the calls without the waste: Search, Performance Max and Local Services Ads, with conversion tracking in place before the first dollar goes out and a report you can read at the end of the month.
We usually run paid search next to the SEO that earns rankings you never pay Google for, and when the landing page is the weak link, our web design team fixes it in the same shop. Everything else we do sits on one services page.
“Rob and his team at Black Door Creative really knocked it out of the park for my company!!! We are now on solid footing with SEO, development and Google Ads and we cannot thank you enough!”

A Google Ads agency should be measured the way its campaigns are, on what the spend produced. Black Door Creative has been marketing Rhode Island businesses since 2005, has launched over 500 websites in that time, is 5 star rated on Google, and is a Google Partner, which means Google checks our certifications and how the accounts we run perform. We are based in Rhode Island, and the person who builds your account is the person who answers when you call (401) 339-4155.
The proof is in the accounts. We built a Rhode Island moving company an SEO optimized website and manage their paid search on an ongoing basis. For a plumbing and heating company we run the marketing for, paid search sent 3,600 sessions to their site between January 1 and August 22 of 2026, up 532.3% on the same stretch of 2025. Those are sessions, not jobs or calls, and we report them that way. Their review puts the other half plainly: "It's been a huge benefit having someone local and genuinely accessible, especially after dealing with larger companies where communication gets dragged out and nothing seems to move forward."
It is your money going to Google, and you should know what it buys. Nobody here benefits from you spending more. When you are ready to start a project, the first conversation is about what a lead is worth to you, not how much you can spend.

Search campaigns are the core of the account
When someone in Rhode Island types "emergency plumber" or "divorce lawyer near me" into Google, the top of that page is for sale, and your competitors are already bidding on it. A Search campaign puts your ad in front of that person at the moment they are ready to call, which is why Search gets the first dollar in nearly every account we run. We research the keywords buyers actually use, group them by service so each ad matches the search, write the copy, set the bids, and adjust all of it as real data comes in. That is the whole of AdWords management in Rhode Island, whatever Google calls the platform this year: show up for the right searches, stay off the wrong ones.

Performance Max, used with a firm hand
Performance Max lets Google place your ads across Search, YouTube, Display, Gmail, Maps and Discover from one campaign, and it will spend the whole budget wherever its model thinks conversions live. A campaign that cannot tell a call from a bounce will happily buy bounces, so we run it only after conversion tracking is proven, with your own brand name excluded so you are not charged for customers already looking for you, and with placement reports reviewed so the budget stays on buyers.

Local Services Ads for the trades and the professions
Local Services Ads sit above every other result for searches like "plumber near me" or "electrician in Warwick". You pay per lead rather than per click, and Google verifies your license, insurance and background check before the Google Guaranteed or Google Screened badge appears. For plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, movers and lawyers, they are often the cheapest calls in the account. We handle the verification with you, set the service areas and job types, dispute the leads that were never real jobs, and manage the budget alongside your Search campaigns.

Tracking first, then the landing page
A campaign nobody measures is a campaign nobody can improve, so calls, forms and online bookings are tracked and tested before any ad runs, and each lead reports back to the keyword and ad that produced it. Then the page. Two businesses can bid the same keyword at the same price, and the one with the better page pays less for every lead because more of its clicks turn into calls. We review the page each ad points to before launch: does it load fast on a phone, does it say what the ad promised, is the number tappable. When small fixes are not enough, a dedicated landing page from our web design team usually pays for itself, and for stores running Shopping campaigns the same review covers the product pages built by our ecommerce web design team.

Negative keywords, search terms and the map
Unmanaged accounts bleed in two places. The first is search terms: "plumber salary" or "free logo" can trigger your ad, so every month we read the search term report and add those to the negative keyword list. The second is geography. Rhode Island is small and the map matters: a heating company in Cranston that will not send a truck past Warwick should not pay for a click from Westerly, and a restaurant in downtown Providence wants the dinner crowd within a short drive, not the whole state. Location targeting and bid adjustments by town are set on day one and revisited as the data comes in.

Shopping, Display and Microsoft Ads
Shopping campaigns put your product, price and photo directly in the results for stores that sell online. Display is worth paying for when awareness has a value you can name, and rarely otherwise. Microsoft Ads, formerly Bing Ads, reaches searchers on Bing, Yahoo, MSN and their partner sites with thinner competition and often a lower cost per click; the audience skews older and more affluent, and LinkedIn profile targeting lets a B2B or high ticket business filter by job title in a way Google cannot. We import what already performs on Google and run it as a second channel, not a replacement.

Reporting you can read, and the SEO next to it
Every month you get a report that says what you spent, what it produced in calls and forms, what each lead cost, and what changes next. That is Google Ads management Rhode Island businesses can check against their own phone log. The same search term data feeds the SEO side of the account: terms that convert in paid are worth ranking for, and once a page ranks, paid budget can pull back from a term you already own. When the ads work and the next question is everything else, the digital marketing page describes the full monthly program.

It depends on your industry, because a click for a personal injury lawyer costs many times what a click for a pizza place does, and on how many leads you can handle. Your proposal recommends a starting point from real click cost data for your keywords, and we would rather start small and scale what works.
It depends on the scope: how many campaign types run, how much tracking has to be built, and whether landing pages are needed. Your written proposal keeps what goes to Google separate from what pays for the work, so you always know both.
Ads can show the day the campaigns are approved, which is the big difference from SEO. The first few weeks are for tuning as real search data arrives, and accounts get stronger with every month of data. Local Services Ads take longer to start because Google has to verify you first.
Both ways are normal. Some clients want the account in their own name, paying Google directly and inviting us in to manage it. Others would rather we set it up on our side and handle billing with everything else. If keeping the account matters to you, say so at the start.
Only the name. Google renamed AdWords to Google Ads in 2018, and plenty of people still search for AdWords management in Rhode Island because that is what they learned to call it. Same auctions, same keywords, same need for someone to watch the spend.
Sometimes. It works best when the account already has solid conversion tracking and a few months of Search data for Google's model to learn from. Turned on cold, it spends the budget on whatever is easiest to buy, and that is rarely a customer. We usually add it after Search is proven.
Google decides by category and location, and the list covers most home services and many professional services. You will need to pass a background check and show proof of license and insurance where your trade requires it. Tell us what you do and we will confirm eligibility before anything is promised.
Yes, and it is a common starting point. We audit the existing account first: where the spend goes, which keywords convert, and what tracking is missing. There is often real budget to reclaim just by cutting keywords that click and never convert.
Yes. Ads can be limited to the state, a list of towns, or a radius around your shop, and if you take work over the line in Seekonk or Fall River, those can be added without opening up all of Massachusetts. The location report shows where every click came from.
Often, as a second channel. Competition is thinner, the cost per click is frequently lower, and the audience on Bing, Yahoo and MSN skews older with more purchasing power. It rarely replaces Google, and we will tell you plainly if your customers are not on it.
In plain English: what you spent, what it produced in calls and form fills, what each lead cost, and what we are changing next. Because tracking is installed before launch, the numbers are counted leads, not clicks dressed up as results.
They pause, they do not vanish. Every campaign, keyword list and piece of performance history stays in the account, ready to restart when you are, and an account with history behind it settles faster than a new one.
